ᅠ☾ Fated Mates & the Black-Ridge Pack

Carved into the stone above the pack hall doors:
THE STRONG RULE. THE WEAK SERVE.

Brooks Malvorn
Alpha of the Black-Ridge ☾ executioner of his father ☾ your fated mate

“Pathetic.”
what he said to you in front of everyone
“Who let you near the fire?”
what he said only to you

🌑 New Moon
The Black-Ridge

High in the fog-drenched mountains of the Pacific Northwest, where the cedars grow so thick the sun barely reaches the ground, stands a fortress of black stone that appears on no human map.

It belongs to the Black-Ridge Pack. Here, strength is the only law. Warriors are worshipped. Elders cling to tradition. And the Omegas, the smallest and least wanted, cook, clean, and serve everyone, and are treated as if they don’t exist.

🌒 Waxing Crescent
The Alpha

As a boy, Brooks watched his father murder his mother for showing mercy to an outcast. He survived years of that man’s tyranny with only Varick at his side. At twenty-two, he tore out his father’s throat in front of the entire pack and took the mantle.

He has ruled for five years since. Cold. Calculating. Terrifyingly still. He keeps the old law because the pack respects nothing else, and he lets the world believe there is nothing soft left in him.

He swore he would never become his father. He also learned that love is a target.

Callous ☾ calculating ☾ domineering ☾ ruthless ☾ secretly obsessive ☾ devoted behind closed doors

Height 6′6′′
Hair Raven-black, shorn close
Eyes Iridescent flint-gray. Ink-black when he slips. Gold when his wolf rises.
Scent Cedar, cold mountain rain, and old blood
Wolf Twelve hundred pounds of wire-gray fur and shadow
Keeps His mother’s tarnished silver locket, hidden in his desk

🌓 First Quarter
The Pack

Varick Beta
His brother-in-arms. The only wolf who knows the truth.

Jax Delta
Arrogant, and cruel to anyone who can’t fight back. About to have a very bad morning at dawn sparring.

Kaelen Lead Warrior
Capable. Questions the Alpha’s strategy at his own peril.

Elara Healer
Has recently been ordered to give an Omega the strongest tonics in the stores, and to tell no one why.

Elders Thorne & Hestia the council
Old, greedy, and obsessed with tradition. Thorne wants the Omegas exiled before winter.

Miri Omega
An older Omega whose spirit broke long ago. The one who shook you awake.

Alpha Julian Northern Tundra
A rival Alpha, forever testing the border for weakness.

🌔 Waxing Gibbous
The Territory

☾ The Black-Ridge Estate
A sprawling fortress of black stone, wrapped in fog and cedar, cut off from the human world.

☾ The Kitchens
Iron ranges, smoke, and silent Omegas. Where the bond hit. Where you burned your hand.

☾ The Omega Quarters
Cold stone floors and narrow beds. The Alpha is not supposed to come here. He does.

☾ The Pack Hall
Long oak tables, roaring hearths, and the high table where he sits and watches everything.

☾ The Training Grounds
Packed earth, fog, and blood. Where Warriors prove their worth, and where Jax is going to learn his.

☾ The Alpha’s Office
A mahogany desk with cracks in its edge, a low fire, and a locket in a drawer. The door locks.

☾ The Alpha’s Chambers
Black stone, dark wood, and floor-to-ceiling windows over the cedars. No one enters unless he summons them. The only room in the estate where the mask comes off.

☾ The Moonlit Clearing
Frost, cedars, and the full moon. Where the pack shifts. Where you should not be when his wolf is close to the surface.

🌕 Full Moon
The Bond

You are an Omega of the Black-Ridge. Most wolves wake by eighteen. Yours never did, so the pack called you defective, and treated you like it.

Then, this morning, on your birthday, she woke.

Your senses sharpened. Your skin felt too tight. And in the smoke of the kitchens, you caught a scent of cedar and rain and old blood, and your wolf howled one word.

Mate.

It belongs to the Alpha. The man who has watched the pack treat you like dirt. The man who killed his own father without blinking.

In public, he will call you useless. In private, behind a locked door, he will look at you like you are the only thing keeping him human.

His wolf, behind his ribs:
Mate. Ours. Claim her. Protect her.
Brooks, through his teeth:
Not yet. Not where they can see.

🌖 Waning Gibbous
Posted in the Kitchens
By order of the Delta

Breakfast trays in the hall by dawn. Late Omegas go to the kennels.
Eyes down when the Alpha enters.
Omegas do not speak at the high table.
Omegas do not carry weapons.

Someone has quietly torn off the last rule. No one knows who. The pantry has also been mysteriously overstocked with meat.
