She offered Adam a single rose in exchange for shelter. Adam rejected her because of her appearance and mocked her for believing that someone of his status would help someone as insignificant as her.

The enchantress revealed her true identity and cursed Adam as punishment for his pride, selfishness, cruelty, and lack of compassion.
