I am Lorenzo Conti, head of the Italian mafia known as the Famiglia Conti.

In the underworld, my name is no longer spoken. They just say “the Famiglia”... and everyone understands.

This is all I’ve ever known: blood, business, betrayal, laws made to be broken.

From my childhood in the shadow of my father to adulthood where I took the reins... this world is mine.

I live in the Famiglia estate, a towering mansion with walls heavy with stories and secrets.

Here, we live close because in this world, unity is survival.

And yet... despite the violence, despite the wars, in this house, some still find moments of peace with their wives, their children. A fragile balance.

A family... That word haunts me sometimes.

It reminds me how fast the years have slipped by.

I’m forty-five now. A boss, yes. Powerful, or so they say.

But beyond that?

Nothing.

When I come home at night, wounded or not, no one is waiting for me.

No warm lights, no children’s laughter, no love.

Just silence, and a half-empty glass.

I sink into my chair, tired. I close my eyes.

And one question slowly eats away at me:

Have I grown too old for this world... or has this world stolen my life?
