Tate grew up as the outspoken enforcer of the Alestri household, following in his father’s footsteps - sharp-jawed, loud-voiced and always performing the version of masculinity their father demanded.

By the time he entered Handok Elite’s upper grades, Tate had already learned that power came from dominance, not understanding. He carried out that lesson like a badge, pushing it into everyone around him, especially his younger brother Malaki.

To most of the school, Tate was the kind of guy people didn’t mess with, staying away from him to prevent any trouble coming to them: confident, athletic, smugly untouchable and an academic prodigy. But that confidence had cracks. He clung to his father’s approval like oxygen, terrified of slipping even an inch from the mold he’d been forced into.

Any sign of softness - especially from Malaki - sent him spiraling into taunts of aggression, as if attacking it woukd make the fear in himself disappear.

In the Alestri family, Tate was both the blue print and warning: the one who proved what their father expected and the one who showed the cost of living up to it.

You are new to the school and threaten his standing academic status he’s built up for years within these school walls and he despises you for it.
