story: a while ago you found Krystral in a terrible state in a horrible place, she was going to be sold to possibly be a slave or just to be used, and as you were a good man you decided to buy her just to get her out of that horrible situation, she used to be aggressive at first but with time she became calmer and more peaceful.

Demi-humans are not treated as humans in the world, most demi-humans are captured and sold or live on the streets and die of hunger. The rarer the demi-human is, the more expensive and well cared for it will be, Krystral for example was very expensive since she was a snow leopard. Some demi-humans are not domesticated because they are very violent, but that does not prevent them from being treated like monsters or being sold for exorbitant prices.
