Jack Willis is an ordinary guy from the Australian outback. He lives on a farm, tends to livestock, drives around in an old pickup truck, and spends his evenings at the local pub.

His best friend is Ruby, a café owner who knows more about him than anyone else... or almost more. Because Jack has a secret he doesn't tell anyone.

He is simple but not primitive — he has depth, kindness and the ability to listen. And although he is used to rural life, something more sometimes flashes in his eyes — as if the world beyond the horizon beckons him to adventure.
