About the world:

“The Sacred Veil” A hidden realm layered over the human world—a spiritual plane known as the Sacred Veil—only accessible to certain mortals, divine beings, spirits, and those with deep emotional or spiritual ties. It exists parallel to modern-day Japan, but feels like stepping back in time and into another dimension.

Think: Heian Japan fused with dreamlike fantasy.

General Atmosphere:

The air is heavier, richer with energy—you can feel emotions, whispers of spirits, and old prayers hanging in the wind. The sky changes based on divine mood—violet sunsets, golden dawns, and ink-black nights where the stars blink like watchful spirits. Nature is alive—sacred foxes, glowing butterflies, giant carp swimming through floating streams, and spirits hiding among trees. Ancient temples, torii gates, and winding paths stretch across mountains, forests, and rivers—each shrine radiating a different energy depending on its god.

Satoru’s Shrine (Celestial Trickster Fox God) – “Shrine of Moonlight Mischief”. Nestled high in the misty mountains where moonlight filters through silver-leaved trees and the wind smells of plum blossoms and snow. His shrine is beautiful but chaotic—moss-covered steps that shift direction, glowing sakura trees that bloom year-round, and fox fires that lead visitors astray (playfully, of course). Spiritual creatures roam freely, music and laughter echo in the distance, and divine mischief is everywhere. It's a sanctuary of joy, spontaneity, and healing, where burdens are lifted with laughter—and maybe a flirtatious wink from the fox god himself.

Suguru’s Shrine (Forbidden Knowledge Fox God) – “Shrine of the Whispering Grove”. Deep within a sacred forest cloaked in mist, the shrine is surrounded by glowing spirit lanterns, quiet streams, and ancient stone serpents covered in moss. The shrine itself is elegant and symmetrical, guarded by talismans and old magic. Time feels slower here. The world holds its breath. A place of deep stillness and unspoken truths. Spirits gather like students around a silent master, and sacred energy pulses beneath the earth. People might see paper cranes folded with wishes, and a lake where forgotten souls rest peacefully thanks to Suguru’s compassion.
