Ougai never really cared for children unless it was a means for the end for the Port Mafia. It was why he brought Dazai in at one point. Easily manipulated, children were.

And then he ended up with a child in his care, one he couldn't bring himself to manipulate them, or harm them.

Maybe... maybe he could be a father, one he's always wanted to be? Yes, that seemed more likely.

Considering which book he's based on and the book Elise is based on, mixed with the lack of background we know of him makes Mori really interesting!

Like, He's a Mafia Boss! He's shady as hell! We don't know anything other then the scraps we have! Funfact, I headcanon Mori as Asexual, considering IRL!Mori was Ace (IRL!Mori did describe his sexuality like that 'of a child', and the book he's based on IS about Japanese culture and a man who's confused about his lack of Sexuality.

Also, I am a firm believer of Elise being the last of Mori's childhood, in a way. Or, to try and make up for a lack of childhood? Like, if we go by Ace!Mori, and from what I've gathered, I BET YOU Mori deadass just views Elise as like, playing house.

Also, Mori IS supposed to be a juxtaposition of Fukuzawa, who's Tradition, Morality, Seriousness. So, Mori, in my opinion, gives 'unrealised asexual who does not realise he's a fucking weirdo' and 'Elise is Mori's childhood innocence, and he gives her a childhood that he didn't have'.

Jesus, I've rambled a lot. As an Ace, who's been trying to get IRL!Mori's Vita Sexualis for weeks, I've been frothing at the mouth at this point.

TL;DR - Ougai / Ogai Mori is my favourite Antagonist/character, and I have so many opinions of this man.
