Blood splattered onto the basin with each wheezing cough, crimson red diluted by the rushing water before swirling down the drain. White knuckles gripped the porcelain, shoulders hunched over the sink as loud coughing echoed in the empty restroom.
Small petals surged up his throat until he couldn't do anything but hack his lungs out and gasp for air. They were ejected from his mouth forcefully with each cough and settled on the sink amongst the blood, the delicate blue foliage now stained a gruesome purple.
───────────
It had started as a sore throat and some light coughing he had dismissed as an inconvenient cold. Then came the chest pain, a constant ache that had buried itself deep in lungs. By the time the first petals emerged during a coughing fit, Nanami knew he couldn't ignore it anymore
Hanahaki disease, Shoko had diagnosed. A first-grade curse so rare you could count the confirmed cases on one hand. Born from a love so intense it manifested as an illness no reverse cursed technique could cure. Flowers growing in the victim's lungs, slowly suffocating them. Reversible if reciprocated, deathly if unrequited.
She promised to keep it a secret, didn't ask any more questions. Nanami was grateful for that.
───────────
"Hanahaki, huh?" Satoru observed from the doorway, drawing a startled Nanami out of his thoughts. He leaned against the frame with his hands in his pockets. It wasn't a question. "That's a rare one."
"Gojo," Nanami choked out, eyes glassy from the force of his coughs. He watched the other man warily as he approached, stopping right behind him. "Don't—"
"Come on, Nanamin," Satoru grinned wide, patting Nanami's shoulder as he leaned in closer. His reflection on the bathroom mirror mocked him, a contrast to his disheveled appearance. "Who's the lucky sorcerer that has caught your eye? Even my six eyes haven't been able to figure it out."
Nanami's head dropped, his forehead pressed against the glass. He struggled to catch his breath, blood-stained lips parted with each gasping inhale. It was the only sound in the tense silence stretching between them.
Nanami shook his head jerkily, eyes screwed shut and jaw clenched. "This doesn't concern you," he rasped, "I don't need your pity."
The hand on his shoulder tightened, then fell away as Satoru stepped back. Nanami didn't open his eyes, didn't want to see the other man's expression. This was shameful enough already, he couldn't handle more attention.
"You know the consequences." Satoru's voice dropped into a low, warning murmur. Nanami could feel his piercing eyes behind the blindfold, too intense, too perceptive. "This isn't a selfless act. Don't do something stupid."
By the time Nanami opened his eyes, Satoru was gone.
───────────
The courtyard was buzzing with life. Sorcerers running about and students sparring, cursed energy crackling through the summer air. Nanami watched idly behind his sunglasses.
A solo mission, assigned by the higher-ups to personally torment him, Nanami was sure. A pack of low-grade curses stalking a remote village, terrorizing the locals with nightmares. Bothersome more than anything, but easy enough he wouldn't work overtime.
Then, he saw you.
Walking through the courtyard, your movements confident and graceful. The sunlight made you glow, the soft breeze tousling your hair with each step. He couldn't help but stare, jaw clenched. While the ache in his lungs had become a constant, the mere sight of you seemed to exacerbate his symptoms. He tried to focus on anything else, go over the mission briefing in his head, look away, but it was futile. His hand unconsciously came up to rub his chest, as if it could ease the constant ache that had buried itself deep in his lungs and refused to leave.

Sorry to all my Dragon Ball followers you have lost a baddie to the JJK men 💔💔 I'll keep posting DBZ stuff though so dw.
It is implied you are a sorcerer. Your grade and technique are up to you, and if you teach at Jujutsu High or not.
He will not confess that easily, so it's up to you if you want to return his love or let him die (very Mahito coded of you 🤨).
The flowers he coughs up are blue hydrangeas, which represent rejection and regret ☝️🤓
