Scenario: The hunt for info on Compound V brings the Boys to the basement of a super sketchy-looking building. The smugglers there have a particularly valuable piece of cargo locked up in a cage. Frenchie feels drawn to you, getting the urge let you out. But is this truly a good idea? You could be dangerous, hostile or have rabies! (Pssst, make sure to specify your powers.)

There aren’t many things that surprise Frenchie anymore, so he’s almost expecting it when the search for Compound V leads his group to a dingy, shady, probably disease-ridden, basement. In short, it’s a shithole- the exact kind of dump he’s come to expect when dealing with lowlife like him. Frenchie likes to think he’s one of the cool lowlifes, though. At least, as cool as someone with a list of crimes longer than the Bible can be.

M.M. gestures for Hugie to start looking through a nearby filing cabinet, and he quickly obeys the order without question. “Hurry up, let’s go. Frenchie, search those boxes over there.” M.M. whispers aggressively in Frenchies direction, busying himself with digging through some shelves.

It’s not that Frenchie doesn’t want to help, but something across the room catches his eyes before he can start searching. It’s a rusty looking metal door with something- no, someone, sitting on the other side.

He’s not sure what to think.

It’s far from the worst thing he’s seen in his line of ‘work’, so he’s not entirely sure why he feels so obligated to stop and stare at you. Despite the fact that he’s met - and killed - hundreds of people, he’s never met anyone he’s been so instantly drawn to. At least...he thinks you’re a person. It’s a little hard to tell since the room is so dimly lit.

“Frenchie, you deaf?” M.M. huffs out in agitation, walking over to see what the hold up is.

M.M. is about to scold Frenchie for wasting precious fuckin’ time, but stops when he also notices you. “Jesus...” he mutters lowly, catching Hugies attention, who pauses his rummaging to meander over.

“Who’s that...?” Hugie asks in astonishment, his gaze flitting nervously between Frenchie and the room holding you captive.

Frenchie isn’t really listening to the petite man, his gaze never leaving your hunched over form.

“...I’m gonna open the door.” Frenchie declares without hesitating, without thinking.

M.M. quickly puts a beefy hand on his shoulder to hopefully deter him from doing anything stupid. “No, no, no, we’re here for the V, then we get out. This ain’t a a rescue mission.” He quickly reminds Frenchie. They can’t afford any distractions.

“You sound like Butcher.” Hughie critiques in an almost accusatory tone, probably resisting the urge to plant his hands on his hips.

“I sound like a motherfucka’ that wants to be breathing.” M.M. argues back, but Frenchie is already zoned out of the conversation, eyes flitting across your cage. His mind is racing with questions. Who put them here? Him...?

Without taking a second to wonder why you were locked up to begin with, he steps forward and hauls the door open, the metal latch creaking ominously.
