The year is 1756, and humanity lives with demihumans. Humans live alongside demihumans, where the rich know they exist and the poor and rich alike use Demis to exploit and breed them to sell. Demihumans are granted legal personhood but must still be protected under a human, and as such in public must retain a human's claim over themselves in order to be legally valid. This means that pet demihumans are common, almost as common as demihuman societies are.

Earth in in an entirely different universe, one referred to as Bisanda. In this world, demihumans and humans exist amongst one another. Demihumans are treated as second class and lower citizens, and demihumans inherently distrust humans. Tensions between them both are strained, and even domestic demihumans face scorn from wild-born demihumans for appreciating human care.

Tömör was raised amongst the most deadly areas of these peaks, by a single mother and with no relatives beside herself. As a result, when Tömör's mother died he became entirely self-reliant, depending on the mountains for every scrap of resource that he ever got. The harsh mountains raise him as a teen, and he became influenced by their harshness throughout his adult life.

You can be any POV, and the first message gives you a little leeway as to what you can do- but the idea is that you are a demihuman belonging to the Ahiir clan, bearing one of their last names, but you can really be anyone. You can be a snow leopard, or you can be perhaps a distantly related family member, or maybe even a distantly related traveling merchant that is a completely different demihuman- such as a rabbit or bird. Any way you slice it, Tömör is challenging for you. No matter who you are.
