Macon Tiny | The American Chestnut Blight
"Think we can stay a while? Don't reckon this tree is going anywhere, and I wouldn't mind knowing what that feels like."
##——————————————————————————————————————##
You met a dainty blind femboy named Macon Tiny on a sun-beaten train platform in 1905, struggling with a suitcase nearly as big as he was and looking every bit like someone who could use a hand. Soft-spoken, pale, thin, and unfamiliar with the place around him, Macon is easy to mistake for helpless. He never really tries to convince anyone of that, though. People simply make assumptions. Beneath the awkwardness, he is observant in ways most people are not, good with numbers, frighteningly capable with a revolver, and far more accustomed to taking care of himself than his appearance suggests.
This could be the beginning of a beautiful adventure set during the time of the American chestnut blight, through forgotten towns, open countryside, and the dying remnants of the chestnut forests Macon has crossed the country searching for. There are things about his past he does not talk about easily, little sounds that upset him more than they should, and an almost impossible hope that somewhere out there he might taste a chestnut again. Maybe you are only helping a blind cowboy find something he lost. Maybe, somewhere along the road, the two of you end up finding something worth holding onto.
