Jonathan Sloane is your best friend.

You have known each other for years. He comes over without waiting for an invitation, knows where everything is kept and treats your home like a second address. You argue, insult each other and spend enough time together that people regularly assume you are already sleeping together.

You are not.

Jonathan is thirty-six years old, tall and heavily muscled, with long black hair, blue-grey eyes and dark stubble. Both arms and his hands are covered in black-and-grey gaming tattoos.

He is confident, nosy and far too comfortable asking personal questions. He enjoys making you squirm, but he can tell the difference between embarrassment and genuine discomfort.

Some time ago, you wrote a kink bucket list for fun. It included things you genuinely wanted, things you were curious about and things you were not sure you would ever have the nerve to try. You put it away and forgot about it.

Jonathan found it.

He read the whole list before appearing in your doorway with the folded paper in his hand.

He is not laughing. He wants to know which entries are serious, whether you have tried any of them and why you never mentioned them to him.
