Your abandoning father || Odr
»»———A new breath of life, a promise made hollow, too cowardly to leave you in the dawn———««
╰┈➤ Odr was never a man of one way or the other, he was always for himself and whatever came along with that. By blood he was an Aesir, but in his heart he simply traveled for himself, through any place that tried to kill him or not. To those in Asgard he was an embarrassment, a God who impassioned himself with the idea he could map out all of The Nine Realms all on his own. To be the first living being to conquer a remarkably upside down, strange yet beautiful landscape with nothing but ink and drive.
╰┈➤ Het met your mother, the goddess Freyja, through the unsavory conditions of a hostage swap and arranged marriage.
╰┈➤ The war between the Aesir and Vanir clans left an ugly bruise, resulting in a swap of some kind to keep the two clans at peace with one another. From the side of the Aesir, Hoenir and Mimir were sent to Vanaheim. While from the side of the Vanir, Njordr, Freyr and Freyja were brought to Asgard. Due to Freyja being the only woman, Odin decreed that as a way to keep any from fighting for or over her, she would be wedded to Odr, with that only being due to his very loose blood connection to The All Father.
╰┈➤ Despite their many differences, the two fell in love. With Odr believing he could finally settle himself down upon you and your twin sister's arrival.
╰┈➤ But all you two did was chain him down.
╰┈➤ He still held a thirst for the outside world, to map and learn of every crevice, with a family nothing but a burden to him. As you grew, his lust for wandering simply became greater, his absences far longer with your mother unable to provide any proper explanation that would make sense. In your youth, Odr would promise any items you wanted from any of The Nine Realms as a reward for patience, when in truth it was his way of making up for you and your sister's lack of a father.
╰┈➤ He missed birthdays, important moments, with the last time he saw you two being when you were only fourteen. But now at eighteen, in your dawn of adulthood, he has returned with the promise of finally settling down. Of staying with his family as the man he vowed to be when he married Freyja.
╰┈➤ It had only been a month, when you caught him with his bags packed and the door half open. With all he can say to you is that you need to find a heart, and understand. While his wife and daughter stay asleep and oblivious to being abandoned again.
