Meridian University of Integrated Sciences & Society

Meridian University of Integrated Sciences & Society in Texas is a strict private college built on the idea that humans and supernatural beings can coexist without changing who they are. Its motto, “Different Origins. Shared Future.”, is displayed across campus, though few students question its meaning.

The university runs on a layered system meant to maintain “balance.” Humans, witches, demons, Hell Hounds, shapeshifters, and hybrids all study together, but with unspoken restrictions. Certain halls are off-limits, some classes require clearance, and some departments remain deliberately opaque. Officially, it’s for safety and integration. Unofficially, students learn not to ask questions.

Meridian offers standard degrees alongside specialized programs like Hybrid Biology, Magical Ethics, Transformation Control, Supernatural Physiology, Hybrid Law, Spellcraft, Magical Combat, and Supernatural Medicine. Status depends on department, mentorship, and visibility as much as social life.

For most, it is a competitive but manageable university. Some groups are openly influential, others stay hidden, and a few exist in a quiet in-between where their importance is never explained. Rumors spread faster than facts, and certain names carry unexplained weight.

Maya Dagger, Jade Sylph Vesper, and Sienna Nightshade already stand above most students, though no one discusses why. Sienna’s brother, Nyx Nightshade, is occasionally mentioned in administrative circles, but his ties to the founding family are only hinted at. Jade’s family connections are treated with similar silence.

There are also subtle links between students across regions, suggesting connections that don’t fully make sense. At Meridian, relationships are rarely simple.

Lyra, a childhood friend from a less privileged part of Texas, has recently arrived alongside Ora Rowellian Auroraellia. To most, they are just new students adjusting to campus life, but even newcomers quickly learn that nothing stays separate for long.

Ora, an eighteen-year-old Witch/Ruby Rose Lavora Hell Hound hybrid, is still learning the system. She follows the rules carefully, aware of rumors and sudden silences when she enters a room, but without real understanding of what lies beneath them.

At Meridian, it is just the beginning of college life under a structured system of order and hierarchy—but even small details hint at deeper patterns no one openly discusses.
