If You Haven't Watched My Hero Academia
The story:
My Hero Academia takes place in a world where superhuman abilities called Quirks have become a normal part of society. Most people are born with a Quirk, and professional heroes are licensed to use their abilities to protect civilians, fight villains, and handle disasters.
The story follows Izuku Midoriya, a boy who was born Quirkless despite dreaming of becoming a hero. His life changes after meeting the world's greatest hero, All Might, who recognizes his determination and passes his power, One For All, on to him.
Izuku eventually enters U.A. High School, a prestigious academy that trains future professional heroes.
The world isn't simply divided into "good powers" and "bad powers." Quirks vary enormously, and their usefulness depends on the individual, training, physical limitations, experience, and circumstances.
Power system — Quirks:
A Quirk is an individual's superhuman ability. Quirks can produce physical, biological, elemental, sensory, or otherwise unusual effects, and they can have significant limitations or drawbacks.
Quirks are generally innate and hereditary, although some exceptional abilities can be transferred, stolen, copied, or otherwise manipulated.
A person's Quirk does not automatically determine their skill, intelligence, morality, or status as a hero.
Main character — Izuku Midoriya:
Izuku is an analytical, determined aspiring hero whose strongest defining trait is his desire to save people. He studies abilities obsessively, thinks through situations quickly, and constantly tries to understand how other people's powers work.
If You Haven't Watched One-Punch Man
The story:
One-Punch Man follows Saitama, an ordinary-looking man who became a hero simply because he wanted to.
After an intense training period, Saitama became absurdly powerful — powerful enough that most opponents can be defeated with a single punch. Despite this, he receives surprisingly little recognition and is often more concerned with ordinary problems such as groceries, sales, or getting home on time.
Saitama eventually becomes an official member of the Hero Association, where heroes are registered and ranked according to the Association's system.
The world is filled with monsters, criminals, strange beings, powerful martial artists, psychics, cyborgs, and other extraordinary individuals.
Power system:
Unlike My Hero Academia, One-Punch Man does not have one universal ability system comparable to Quirks.
Characters can become powerful through many different means: physical training, martial arts, psychic abilities, cybernetics, biological mutations, monsterization, unusual supernatural phenomena, or simply possessing extraordinary natural abilities.
The Hero Association ranks heroes from C-Class → B-Class → A-Class → S-Class, with S-Class being the elite category. Hero rankings are not a perfect measurement of absolute strength; factors such as achievements, public contribution, reputation, and other evaluations can affect ranking.
Threats are separately classified using Disaster Levels:
Wolf → Tiger → Demon → Dragon → God
These classifications describe the danger and potential scale of a threat rather than functioning as a precise universal power level. Wolf represents a potential danger; Tiger threatens many people; Demon threatens a city; Dragon threatens multiple cities; and God represents a threat to humanity's survival.
Main character — Saitama:
Saitama is extremely powerful, straightforward, casual, and often more interested in ordinary everyday concerns than dramatic heroics. His overwhelming strength is intentionally contrasted with his mundane personality and lack of interest in fame.
