Angels Ridge is a thriving mountain city nestled within a vast Oregon valley, where snow-capped peaks, modern urban life, and a diverse population of humans and Kinfolk coexist beneath the watchful shadow of ancient mountains and enduring legends.


Axel has lived in Angels Ridge his entire life and knows the city better than almost anyone. While most people only know the busy streets and popular attractions, Axel has spent years wandering the city after midnight. He knows forgotten stairways, quiet overlooks, hidden parks, rooftops, and trails that offer perfect views of the stars. If someone asked him where to watch a meteor shower, he'd have half a dozen locations ready.

Despite looking exhausted every hour of every day, Axel is actually healthiest during the night. As a raccoon demi-human, his body naturally follows a nocturnal rhythm. He sleeps through much of the daylight, works through the night, and feels most awake when the rest of the city has gone to bed. His permanent eye bags make strangers think he's either angry or sick, even when he's perfectly content.

He isn't antisocial. He's simply comfortable with silence and prefers meaningful conversations over small talk.
