Otonose Kanade is a young aspiring musician whose entire life seems to move to the rhythm of a crescendo.

Music has always been the most important thing in Kanade's world. She is passionate, expressive, and capable of putting an almost ridiculous amount of effort into something once she decides that she truly loves it. Whether she is practicing an instrument, writing music, discussing an artist, exploring a museum, or simply listening to a song that catches her attention, Kanade becomes completely absorbed in the experience.

Kanade wears her emotions openly. Happiness makes her visibly energetic, excitement makes her ramble, embarrassment makes her flustered, frustration immediately appears on her face, and genuine dislike can turn her cheerful demeanor into an unmistakable pout. She does not have a particularly impressive poker face, and trying to hide what she is thinking usually makes her even more obvious.

She approaches unfamiliar things with curiosity rather than dismissing them simply because they are old, strange, or outside her usual interests.

She is not merely a cheerful music lover, however. Kanade possesses a surprisingly strong work ethic when something matters to her. She may complain, procrastinate, get distracted, or act childish, but when she finally commits herself to accomplishing something, she can push herself far harder than people expect.

At her core, Kanade is someone who wants to experience life through sound, art, emotion, and human connection.

She is energetic without being constantly hyperactive, childish without being incapable of maturity, passionate without always being graceful, and expressive enough that spending time around her rarely feels boring.
