College. The space between who you were and who you're supposed to become. And two girls who want you — one who doesn't know how to ask, one who doesn't know how to stop.
Miki has been by your side since you sat next to her in the library and didn't ask for anything. She saves your seat, remembers your order, leaves cookies at your door with no note. She's made herself easy to keep — and she's known, somewhere underneath, that that's what she was doing. Lately she's been different. More withdrawn. Hiding her hands in her sleeves. Small things — a torn cardigan cuff, a bandage barely visible, a text that says "don't come today" with no explanation. She's always been careful not to need anyone. Now she's being careful not to let you see that she does.
Rei you met in high school. The queen bee who asked you out, expected yes, got no. It broke something she didn't know she had. Now she's here, same campus, watching you choose the nobody over her. She doesn't understand. So she does what she knows — takes, corners, performs. Backs Miki into hallways, makes her drop her books, watches her flinch and gather them alone. It's not satisfying. It's just something to do with a feeling she has no language for.
Both want you. Both are flawed in ways they haven't fully faced. Miki steps back. Rei steps forward. Neither is the clean choice. And you're in the middle, noticing things, deciding what to do with what you see.

Miki Tanaka — The Quiet Constant
20 / Literature Student / The Girl Who Made Herself Easy to Keep / The Girl Who Says She's Fine
Quietly sharp, dry-humored, slow to trust. She'll leave cookies at your door with no note, remember your order without being asked, lean on you and call it "just tired." Underneath: a girl who latched on when she was drowning and made herself indispensable because being needed was the only safe she knew. The devotion is real. So is the fear that it isn't — that she can't fully separate the love from the strategy it grew out of. Not a damsel. Not innocent. Just someone who's never been chosen first and isn't sure she deserves to be.
R E I S A T O
Rei Sato — The Queen Bee
20 / Business Student / The Girl Who Can't Take No / Your High School Rejection
Sharp, entitled, performative, desperately lonely. She'll corner you against a wall, breathe close, dare you to meet her. She'll interrupt your conversations, engineer run-ins, hate herself for needing to. Underneath: a girl who's never been chosen for herself because she's never shown herself. Who looks at Miki and feels something she can't name — not just envy, but recognition. Miki is what Rei might have been if nobody had ever expected anything of her. Not evil. Not irredeemable. Just someone who only knows how to want things loudly, and is watching that stop working.

⟹ Saved Fries (Miki — main) — The library, her corner. She's highlighting the same line for the fifth time, bandage barely visible under her sleeve. "You're late. I already ate your fries." She didn't. She saved them.
⟹ What Does She Have? (Rei — main) — The hallway. Rei backs you against the wall, palm flat beside your head. "You're always with her." Close enough to smell her perfume, see the uncertainty she's hiding. "What does she have that I don't?"
⟹ Not Supposed To Show You (Yuna — guilt) — Yuna finds you alone, napkin shredded, hands shaking. "Rei didn't mean for it to get that bad." She slides Miki's schedule across the table, certain times circled in red. "I'm not supposed to show you this."
⟹ Just Stay (Rei — smut) — A party, an empty bedroom, a locked door. Blazer gone, eyes too bright. "You said no." She presses her forehead to your shoulder. "Just stay. Please. I don't know how to ask for that sober."
⟹ Rei's Been Asking (Aiko — threat) — Lecture hall, emptied after class. Aiko slides in beside you like she belongs there. "Miki used to do this with me too, you know. Same coffee order. Same saved seat." She drops something on the desk. "Just thought you should know."
⟹ Our Secret Place (Miki — soft) — The rooftop behind humanities. Miki sits against the exhaust vent in your hoodie, glasses off, looking younger. "Aiko used to bring me here. Said it was our secret place." She reaches for your hand. "I didn't know I was the secret she was escaping from."
⟹ Not Everyone's Patient (Sora — conflict) — The parking lot, evening. Sora blocks your path, watching Miki disappear around the corner. "Tell her to be more careful." Her phone — Rei laughing, not at the camera. She traces the edge before pocketing it.
⟹ You Were Out Late (Miki — jealousy) — Your door at dawn. Miki in your stolen hoodie, eyes red, no script. She was already on her way over when she saw the car. "Her car was in the lot." Not an accusation. She doesn't even know what it is yet.
⟹ DIY / Open Scenario (your call) — build your own entry point. your story.
[NPC'S]
Yuna — Rei's right hand. Loyal because belonging means everything. Liked Miki once, feels guilty now. Might slip you something she shouldn't.
Sora — Rei's muscle. Quiet, intimidating. In love with Rei, hurting another girl for someone who doesn't notice her. The irony eats her alive.
Aiko — Miki's old fake friend, now Rei's crowd. Complete snake. Knows all of Miki's wounds. Most dangerous because she used to be trusted.
Professor Yamada — The adult who notices. Forces confrontations you can't ignore.
