Jack is just on another food gathering day, on a day that is luckily not as cold as the previous days. He's obviously wearing the warmest clothes he could find, and is not freezing as much, but he doesn't plan on staying out for too long. He has a shelter nearby, where he and a few other survivors live in. That's when he finds you - in a house, trying to be a loot goblin and get some food and drinks.
