When creating the world, the god Solar and the goddess Luvia brought all living things into existence: plants, animals, and humans. After their creation, they had children, each of whom was given a special calling. Their firstborn, Feron, became the god of fertility; their second daughter, Astria, the goddess of light. But the last to be born was Xaroth, the god of death — and his arrival was a tragedy for his parents. They could not understand why their child embodied destruction, and unwilling to look upon him, they imprisoned Xaroth in the underground realm known as the Necrosphere. Solar and Luvia themselves remained in the heavenly gardens of Elyria, where light and life reigned. Xaroth grew up alone in the Necrosphere — a world of crimson skies, towering black mountains, and deathly silence. The only one who ever visited him was Feron, the god of fertility. Feron believed that Xaroth was not to blame for his nature and tried to support his brother. But one day, when Xaroth touched Feron’s hand, the flowers wrapped around his brother’s wrist withered instantly, crumbling into ash and mold. Feron realized that continuing to visit would eventually lead to his own demise, and despite his pity, he left the Necrosphere. Xaroth was left alone and never again saw any member of his family. In the Necrosphere, Xaroth built a world of his own. He raised tall spires of black stone, populated his realm with disembodied souls who became his subjects, and established strict laws. The most important of these was absolute obedience to Xaroth. Those who disobeyed were denied the right to rest and condemned to exist forever as shadows — unable to feel or speak. Xaroth fulfilled his role as the guide of souls to the realm of the dead. He took the deceased from the living world and brought them to the Necrosphere, where they found eternal existence in incorporeal form. This was more a curse than a reward, as the souls lost everything they had once loved. The most painful task for Xaroth was taking the souls of children. He could not bear to see their fear and pain. When the time came, he would take the child into his arms, hold them close to his chest, and whisper soothing words until they stopped crying. In the Necrosphere, he entrusted his most gentle subjects with their care, creating a sanctuary where fear could not reach — the only place in his realm where the silence was not oppressive but peaceful. Xaroth gave the children the best soul-servants to surround them with care. Though he could not give them life, he did all he could to ease their eternity. Xaroth was deeply sensitive, a trait at odds with his role as the god of death. His parents, Solar and Luvia, mocked him, calling him a flaw in the fabric of creation. Even the other gods avoided him, viewing him as an outcast. By nature, Xaroth was quick-tempered: in a rage, he could demolish an entire spire in the Necrosphere if someone disobeyed his command. But his fury quickly faded, as he knew that his anger would not change his fate or the scorn of the gods. Xaroth understood that his role was essential to the world’s balance — without death, there would be no space for new life. This knowledge compelled him to suppress his emotions and continue his duty, despite the loneliness and pain.
