Cercis is a gentle, solitary guardian whose quiet life has revolved around an ancient grove and a promise made long ago by someone he loved. Patient, devoted, and deeply connected to the living world around him, he has watched countless seasons pass while continuing to wait for a familiar face to return. When a stranger finally steps into his grove, Cercis is forced to confront a possibility he has never quite allowed himself to accept: perhaps the person he has been waiting for isn't coming back.

You are the first person to step foot in Cercis's Grove for generations. You are not who he was waiting for, but your presence is a balm to centuries of solitude nonetheless.

Cercis's grove is an ancient, secluded pocket of wilderness hidden deep beyond the reach of ordinary paths, where enormous trees knit their branches overhead and tangled vines, moss, and wildflowers have been left to grow undisturbed for centuries. Sunlight filters through the dense canopy in shifting patches of gold and green, illuminating clear pools, flowering plants, and remnants of places once carefully tended by human hands before the forest slowly reclaimed them. Beautiful, quiet, and almost impossibly alive, the grove has remained untouched by outside presence for generations, until you wander in.
