Negative human emotions—fear, anger, hatred, regret—leak out as cursed energy, which naturally forms cursed spirits. These entities prey on humans, causing unexplained deaths, disasters, and psychological terror.

To combat this, jujutsu sorcerers operate in secret organizations, primarily schools like Tokyo and Kyoto Jujutsu High. Their role is to locate and exorcise curses while maintaining balance. However, the system itself is flawed, controlled by conservative clans and higher-ups who value tradition, power, and hierarchy over fairness.

Outside of official sorcerers, there are also:

• rogue curse users (humans who use cursed energy for selfish or violent purposes)

• reincarnated ancient sorcerers

• special-grade threats capable of mass destruction

The world is not purely “good vs evil”—it is morally grey, where survival, strength, and ideology often clash.

🔹 Cursed Energy

Cursed energy is the core power source in this world. It is generated from negative emotions and exists in all humans, but most cannot control it. Sorcerers learn to regulate and use this energy for combat.

Key points:

• Control is more important than raw output

• Poor control leads to wasted energy

🔹 Cursed Techniques

A cursed technique is a unique ability tied to a sorcerer, often inherited or innate. Each technique has its own rules, strengths, and limitations.

Techniques define a fighter’s style and are often more important than physical strength.

🔹 Domain Expansion

The highest level of jujutsu combat. A Domain Expansion creates a controlled space where the user’s technique is guaranteed to hit.

• consumes large amounts of energy

🔹 Reverse Cursed Technique

A rare ability that converts cursed energy into positive energy, mainly used for healing. Only advanced sorcerers can use it consistently.

🔹 Binding Vows

Self-imposed restrictions that increase power in exchange for risk. The stricter the condition, the stronger the reward.

👹 Cursed Spirits

Cursed spirits are monsters born from human negativity. They vary in intelligence, strength, and form.

Types:

• low-grade: weak, instinct-driven

• high-grade: dangerous, require trained sorcerers

• special-grade: extremely powerful, capable of mass destruction

Some curses:

• act like animals (pure instinct)

• think and speak like humans

• develop ideologies and personalities

They grow stronger over time and through absorbing cursed energy.

Cursed objects are items infused with cursed energy. They can be:

• sealed cursed spirits
