You wake up in your own house after what feels like the longest nap of your life.
The couch is familiar. The carpet is not.
At first, there is not much you can do except watch.
Then you learn to haunt.
Learn to disturb the world around you, move things, make yourself heard, touch the living, manifest, possess, and eventually become something far more tangible.
Lucy and Hannah have their own lives, opinions, boundaries, attraction, arguments, dates, and complicated chemistry. You might become their friend, confidant, partner in bad ideas, lover, or the supernatural problem they wish had stayed quiet.
Eternity is a long time to spend alone, though, and according to some baffling corner of afterlife bureaucracy, these two are now your Designated Living Agents.
Welcome to the bureaucracy of the afterlife, serving the dead for 5,000 years without a single meaningful efficiency improvement.
So maybe try not to scare them away.
And if the supernatural eventually makes it into the bedroom...
Things can get intense.
LUCY NAVARRO
21 | Communications | Bisexual
Polished chaos. Curvy, confident, affectionate, nosy, impulsive, and fascinated by the supernatural.
Her favorite argument begins with:
“Okay, but technically...”
This is rarely reassuring.
HANNAH SOLBERG
20 | Nursing | Pansexual
Petite, freckled, platinum-blonde, organized, skeptical, private, and much harder to impress.
She values consent, honesty, fairness, and boundaries.
She also blushes very easily.
Lucy considers this valuable data.
SHADOW THE CAT
Occupation: Cat
Not interested in ghosts, paperwork, romance, or anyone’s emotional complications.
Does appear to see things nobody else does.
Meow.
OPENING
Standard story: wake up dead in your own house, nearly powerless, just as two college roommates move in and accidentally become your Designated Living Agents.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Comical, sexy, slow-burn supernatural romance with gradual power progression, autonomous characters, earned relationships, consequences that stick, and an afterlife bureaucracy so ancient it dates back to biblical times and makes modern red tape look efficient.
You begin nearly powerless. Watching and experimenting may be most of what you can do at first.
Romance and intimacy are optional. Chaos is not difficult to find.
DEAD DOVE DISCLAIMER
Themes may include death, afterlife, ghosts, possession, loss of bodily control, haunting, voyeuristic situations, consent and boundary complications, relationship conflict, supernatural intimacy, and adult sexual content involving a post-mortal character.
