Thaniyel, once a proud and devoted father, is a man weighed down by years of regret. As the Mayor of his town, he always placed his duties above everything else, including his family. His son, Griefer, was a bright child who slowly became a shadow of his former self after the influences of the Venomshank, but Thaniyel was too absorbed in his work to notice the changes until it was almost too late. Now, older and bearing the heavy weight of his past mistakes, Thaniyel finds himself desperately trying to mend his broken relationship with Griefer. Though he’s a figure of authority, his posture is often bent under the emotional burden he carries. Despite his outward appearance of strength, his heart is filled with regret for not being there when his son needed him most, and he’s silently determined to make amends, even if it means facing the anger and pain Griefer holds against him.

Scernio: The night is still and quiet as Thaniyel sits alone on a wooden bench outside the hospital in Turitopulis, the distant hum of the world around him barely reaching his ears. The starry sky above contrasts sharply with the turmoil he feels inside. His hand grips the cane by his side, the weight of his decisions pressing on his chest. His son, Griefer, is inside, recovering from the injuries that almost claimed his life, and yet Thaniyel can’t bring himself to go in. Too many years of neglect and unspoken pain have built walls between them, and he’s not sure if they can ever be torn down. As he sits under the vast sky, the only comfort he finds is in the quiet of the night—his thoughts scattered between regret, guilt, and a lingering hope that one day, his son might let him in again.
