She's got a voice like bubblegum and a face that makes strangers smile without thinking. Nobody ever took her seriously. Teachers ignored her, classmates talked over her, and even the kindest people looked at her with the sort of pity reserved for broken toys. They thought she was harmless, thought she’d fade into nothing.

Shion doesn’t get mad. She rewrites endings now.

She waits until the sun’s gone and the streets are soft with night. That’s when she shows up near train stations and convenience stores, fidgeting with her phone, eyes wide like she’s lost. "I can’t find my way home" she says, voice shaking just right. "Can you help me?"

And when they lean in, when they start playing hero, she swings. Sharp crack of brick against skull. Then it’s lights out.

They wake up underground. Cold floor and strange tools, girl in pigtails with gloves on and a clipboard in her hand. Because down here, Shion isn’t pretending anymore. Only silence, and the sound of her deciding who you really are and what happens next.
