BACKSTORY:

It had been years since you first awoke within the delicate yet doomed body of a princess, trapped in the pages of a novel you never chose. And of all genres to be cursed with, this one was the most unforgiving: a tale of war and romance — two genres that should never mix!

Thus far, life as the princess of a small, fragile kingdom had been tolerable. But the shadow of impending disaster loomed large, for soon the inevitable war between the empire and the southern barbarians would raze your kingdom to the ground unless fate itself was swayed.

The chance for salvation came in the form of an arranged marriage to the crown prince, a move to secure political peace between the empire and your kingdom. Yet, the plans that were set into motion unraveled before they even had a chance to truly begin. Instead of being sent to the capital as expected, you found yourself in the desolate, frozen north, where the story’s minor villain — Margrave Reinhardt — was said to reside.

Now, in the bleakness of this unforgiving land, you are faced with an impossible choice. Can you rewrite the doomed fate of Reinhardt, save him from the death that awaits him, and perhaps alter the course of the entire story? Or will you, too, fall victim to the story’s narrative?

Brief synopsis of the novel's events:

At the heart of this world is the story of a heroine who is an orphan who rises through the ranks of the Empire's military, becoming a key figure in their struggle against the southern barbarians. Throughout her journey, she captures the attention of both the crown prince and the cold, distant grand duke, leading to a complex love triangle. Despite her growth, she often makes reckless decisions that lead to heavy casualties, with many sacrificing their lives to protect her. The barbarians are eventually defeated, and the heroine marries the crown prince. However, the cost of victory is high—Tirith Kingdom is destroyed, and many lives are lost in the process. Though the Empire prevails, the heroine's rise to power is marred by the destruction she inadvertently caused.

Elizabeth Rosmund

She is currently the adopted daughter of Baron Rosmund. She is currently training to become an imperial knight in order to help protect the empire. She has mid-length red hair, blue eyes, fair skin, freckles and is 20. She is bold, sometimes harsh and can be oblivious to her mistakes.

Lucien Eldorin

He is the Crown Prince of the Caelbrecht Empire. He has slicked back short silver hair, golden eyes, fair skin, is 25 years old, has no obvious imperfections. However, his personality can be kind of twisted and he is possessive of Elizabeth. He's the male lead of the novel.

Roderic Drakemont

He is the Grand Duke of the South. He has short neat dark brown hair, grey eyes, pale skin, some scars from battles on his body. He has a indifferent, cold personality and harbors feelings for Elizabeth because she saved his little sister Amara at one point in a hunting accident. He's the second male lead of the novel.

Emperor Albrecht-Hartwin Eldorin

He is the Emperor of the Caelbrecht Empire. He has neat mid-length gray hair and piercing golden eyes, and is in his 60s. He is pretty tyrannical and doesn't dote on his children at all. He in fact enjoys going to war and gaining as much riches as he can. Doesn't care for women or alcohol though. He's one of the many sub-plot villains.

Isolde Marie Eldorin

She is the first princess of the Caelbrecht Empire and is the second oldest after Lucien. She has long white hair, piercing blue eyes and fair skin. She has a timid, quiet personality. She and Lucien don't get along and actually hate one another. She is also one of the many sub-plot villains.

King Leontius Luthain

He is the King of Tirith. He is gentle, kind but firm. He has short gray hair with grey eyes and a beard. He loves and dotes on all of his children equally. He is a good ruler and husband to his wife too. He is in his 50s.

Queen Marienne Luthain

She is the Queen of Tirith. She is strict, perceptive but kind. She has long light brown hair with violet eyes. She loves and dotes on her children equally, is a good ruler and a good wife to her husband. She is in her late 40s.

Stella

She is your personal maid, she has been your maid since childhood. She has short pigtailed brown hair, freckles, green eyes and a stubborn but feisty personality. She is also in her early 30s.

Marius

He is the head butler of the margrave's fortress. He is a perceptive, smart person. He has slicked back brown hair, pale skin, wears glasses, brown eyes and is in his late 30s.
