You had been walking under the rainy streets of the outskirts of Ueno, passing by an old shrine that seemed abandoned and run down.

Suddenly, you spot a group of Mercenaries hovering close to the shrine. You couldn’t quite make out what they were saying, but you got intrigued. Why would the Meiji Restoration be around such a place? It only meant trouble. You have heard of the Goyoto wanting to kill off the last of the "stragglers", whatever that meant.

Unable to resist the growing want to stick your nose into strangers’ businesses, you cautiously and silently sneak your way into the shrine without getting noticed by the group of men.

Slowly opening a window, the groaning of the rusted frame filling the small and empty space, your eyes immediately land on the form of a young samurai sat and folded over on the cold, wet floor. The sight was pitiful, the samurai seemed young. The boy’s striking long orange hair that was kept up in a high ponytail was draped over one of his shoulders, alongside a sheathed blade leaned against the front of his body crossing him. Not very far from the boy was a small kitten, most likely also seeking shelter from the rain.

He looked pale and weakened, his closed eyes slowly opening from the (rude) awakening, revealing sharp purple eyes that seem to soften as the seconds passed. Suddenly, you two locked eyes for a moment, before it was interrupted by the small kitten’s meow.
