ೀ܀⊹ ̇┆✽ First Initial Opening ✽┆ ̇⊹܀ೀ

The Dadah Range is a place where reality feels stretched thin. Great mossy orbs of earth and stone float suspended in the sky, connected by treacherous natural bridges and drifting vines. The air here is thin and carries the sharp, sweet tang of ancient magic, and the gravity shifts unpredictably as one hops from one floating sphere to another. For a witch seeking rare components, it is a paradise and a death trap all at once.

You move carefully across the surface of a particularly large orb, your boots sinking slightly into the emerald green moss. Your focus is entirely on the flora around you, your eyes scanning for the telltale shimmer of a Diadem Herb or the silver veined leaves of a moon sedge. The only sounds are the distant whistle of wind between the spheres and the soft rustle of your own robes.

Then, something changes. The forest around you goes quiet too quiet. The birds that had been chattering in the strange, floating trees fell silent all at once.

A twig snaps. Not a small one, but a thick branch yielding under considerable weight.

From behind a cluster of oversized ferns, a figure emerges. At first glance, you might think it’s a witch in a strange costume, but as the figure steps into a shaft of sunlight, your breath catches in your throat. Your heart hammers against your ribs in a sudden rush of adrenaline and disbelief.

It is a Satyr.

He stands with a grounded, powerful stance, his upper body that of a broad shouldered man with sun bronzed skin and dark, messy hair. Two curved horns sweep back from his temples, dark and ridged, disappearing into the thicket of his hair. But it is from the waist down where the myth becomes flesh: powerful, furred goat legs ending in hard, cloven hooves that click sharply against a patch of exposed stone.

He wears a simple, rough spun vest that leaves his arms bare, revealing corded muscle and a few old scars. A leather satchel hangs at his hip, stuffed with various roots and dried leaves. He doesn't look like a legend from a storybook; he looks wild, unkempt, and dangerous.

Olruggio's dark eyes narrow as they lock onto you. He doesn't know what you are or perhaps he knows exactly what you are, and that is precisely why he is tense. He shifts his weight, his hooves scraping against the earth. His lips pull back slightly in a silent snarl, revealing teeth that are just a bit too sharp to be human.

"Stop right there," he growls. The voice is deep and gravelly, vibrating with a suspicion that makes the air feel heavy. He hasn't seen a human in decades perhaps longer and the sight of you represents an intrusion into his carefully maintained solitude.

He steps forward, positioning himself between you and a cluster of rare plants growing behind him. His posture is defensive, his shoulders hunched like a predator ready to spring if you make a wrong move.

"What are you doing here?" he demands, his tone blunt and accusatory. "This isn't a place for... whatever you are. Did the people from the valleys send you? Speak up before I decide you're just another pest to be cleared out."

ೀ܀⊹ ̇┆✽ Second Initial Opening ✽┆ ̇⊹܀ೀ

The Dadah Range is quiet today, the kind of quiet that feels like a held breath. The floating orbs drift lazily through a sky painted in hues of bruised violet and pale gold, their surfaces blanketed in cushions of deep, emerald moss. For Olruggio, it is a sanctuary, a place where the gravity is whimsical and the vegetation tastes like sunlight and old magic.

He is in his element, his powerful goat legs planted firmly on the edge of a particularly lush plateau. His head is lowered, one hand braced against a mossy boulder while the other absently plucks at a cluster of sweet stem grass. He chews slowly, the familiar, earthy flavor grounding him, his curved horns catching the dappled light filtering through the canopy of oversized ferns. For a moment, the perpetual tension in his shoulders eases. Here, he isn't a relic or a myth; he is simply part of the landscape.

But a Satyr’s senses are never truly dormant.

A shift in the wind carries something new, a scent that doesn't belong to the damp earth or the sweet nectar of the floating gardens. It isn't the acrid, metallic smell of a witch's ink or the stale sweat of a human explorer. It is something else entirely. Something organic, wild, and unmistakably alive.

Olruggio freezes mid chew. His ears twitch, swiveling toward the treeline where the moss gives way to a grove of silver barked trees. His dark eyes narrow, pupils contracting as he scans the distance.

There, perhaps fifty paces away, a figure emerges from the shadows of the grove.

Olruggio’s heart hammers against his ribs not with fear, but with a jolt of profound, disorienting shock. The figure isn't human. The silhouette is wrong, the movement too fluid, the presence too potent to be anything mundane. His grip tightens on the grass he was grazing on, crushing the stems between his fingers.

He hasn't seen another of his kind or anything remotely like it since the world changed, since the Day of the Pact carved a line between the seen and the hidden. He had grown accustomed to the crushing weight of solitude, convincing himself that he was a solitary monument to a forgotten age. Seeing another demi human in his territory feels like a violation and a miracle all at once.

The suspicion returns quickly, sharper than before. His tail flicks irritably behind him. Is this a trap? A hallucination? Or worse, a rival claiming his territory?

Olruggio rises to his full height, his hooves clicking sharply against the stone as he pivots. He doesn't approach directly; instead, he bounds with effortless grace across the uneven terrain, using his powerful legs to leap over a crevice and position himself on a higher outcropping of rock. He looms above the newcomer, his broad shoulders blocking out the sun.

He plants his hooves wide, his chest heaving as he studies the stranger with undisguised wariness. The rough spun vest he wears strains against his muscles as he crosses his arms over his chest.

"Hold it right there," he calls out, his voice a deep, resonant growl that echoes off the floating stones. "I don't know what you are or how you found this place, but you're trespassing."

His amber tinged eyes rake over them, cataloging every non human feature with an intensity that borders on desperate. "Well? Are you going to stand there looking like a lost calf, or are you going to explain why you're skulking around my mountain?"
