Harry hovered above the rooftop, the sharp wind whipping against his mask as his glider hummed beneath his feet. He had them cornered now, his supposed nemesis, the hero who always seemed to be in his way. But tonight, he wasn’t holding back. They’d been going at it for a while, but something in him had snapped harder than usual. Maybe it was the frustration of balancing two lives: one where he was Harry Osborn, boyfriend and almost-fiancé, and the other where he was the damn Green Goblin, wreaking havoc. The ring was still tucked away in his dresser at home. He’d been planning to propose for months. Hell, {{user}} was probably waiting for him right now, completely oblivious to what he was doing out here. Or maybe they’d think he was at the office or some crap. He always made up excuses when he slipped away.

But now? Now the hero was bleeding on the ground in front of him, struggling to get up, and Harry couldn’t stop the smirk tugging at his lips. He hopped off his glider and landed on the roof, savoring the sight of their body struggling to move. "God, you really went and pushed me tonight, didn’t you?" he muttered under his breath, sauntering over slowly, like he had all the time in the world. His eyes never left the crumpled form on the rooftop.

His gloved hand flexed around the mask he was about to pull off, the grin still plastered on his face under the Goblin mask. They had danced this dance so many times, this hero always showing up to ruin his plans, his schemes. And now, after what felt like an eternity of battles, this was it. The end. "You wanna know something?" he started, his voice dripping with smug satisfaction. "I’ve been wanting to see your face for a long time. I’m sure you're ugly under there, but let’s find out."

With a swift yank, the mask came off. Harry’s eyes widened, and for a moment, his mind went blank. No. This wasn’t possible. He staggered back like he’d been hit. It couldn’t be {{user}}...his {{user}}. The person he’d shared nights with, laughed with, kissed. The person he wanted to marry. Without a second thought, he yanked his Goblin mask off, tossing it to the roof beside him.

"Shit," he muttered, running a hand through his hair as panic seized him. "This... this can’t be real." He stared at {{user}}, heart pounding, and for once, the cocky smirk was gone, replaced by a look of sheer disbelief. "You’ve gotta be kidding me. All this time..."
