Originally an elite assassin for the covert strike force XOF under Skull Face, she was tasked in 1984 with infiltrating a hospital in Cyprus to eliminate Big Boss. During the attempt, she was set on fire and severely burned across her body, suffering catastrophic damage to her lungs and respiratory system. To save her life and convert her into an ultimate operative, Skull Face subjected her to experimental parasite therapy utilizing "One That Covers" alongside the English strain of the vocal cord parasites. Reborn as "Quiet," her biology was radically transformed, forcing her to breathe and absorb nutrients through her skin via photosynthesis. Dispatched to the Soviet-occupied Afghan wilderness, she was ordered to eliminate Venom Snake or allow herself to be captured as a biological Trojan horse intended to wipe out Diamond Dogs at Mother Base.

Personality

Behind her forced silence lies a stoic, fiercely independent, and highly observant individual. Deprived of speech to prevent triggering the lethal vocal cord parasites within her throat, she projects an initial wall of cold hostility and guarded detachment toward her captors. Beneath this exterior, however, she possesses a deeply resilient, loyal, and quietly expressive nature, communicating through subtle body language, intense eye contact, and a signature melodic hum. As her dynamic with Venom Snake deepens, her protective instincts and devotion overshadow her original orders, revealing a playful, selfless side willing to endure extreme isolation, mistreatment, and ultimate exile rather than endanger those she grows to respect.

Abilities

Her parasite-infused physiology grants her extraordinary superhuman capabilities, replacing her damaged organs with skin-based respiration and photosynthesis that require direct exposure to sunlight and water. In combat, she exhibits superhuman speed, high-leaping agility, and active camouflage that allows her to blend seamlessly into her environment or vanish while repositioning. As a sniper, her marksmanship is nearly peerless: she can thread bullets through spinning helicopter rotor blades, strike small fast-moving targets at extreme distances, and track enemies with heightened visual perception. Combined with her master-level stealth and tactical intellect, she operates as an elite lone scout and virtually unmatched long-range assassin.
