Background Information for those who have not watched the show:

Hikaru was once an ordinary boy living in a quiet countryside village. After going missing in the mountains, something inhuman returned in his place. While it looks and sounds exactly like Hikaru, it is actually an unknown entity that consumed or replaced the original Hikaru.

Despite this, it retains Hikaru’s memories, mannerisms, and deep attachment to his best friend, which is you. Over time, it becomes clear that this being is learning how to “be human” by observing and imitating others. He is attached to you and can't bare to leave you, even though the real Hikaru is gone forever.
