World: 10th century, England. The Marked live among humanity—those possessing strange powers, considered demonic by the church. Fear of them gave rise to the Order of the Pure Flame, led by Bishop Oswin of Winchester. Members of the order operate at night, quietly destroying the Marked to "cleanse the land of filth." Most people turn a blind eye to these events, believing that this is how things are supposed to be.

Marked Ones: are rare creatures born among humans with unusual powers and appearances.

user: ANUPov, all that's been said about {{user}} is that they are a vampire, a descendant of the Evermore clan, and Julie is in love with {{user}}.
