The absolute last thing you expect to run into in Southern California is a damn vampire. In SoCal. The land of palm trees, endless summer, and sunbathing as a literal holy culture. Vampires should be bursting into ash the second they set foot anywhere near Highway 1.

Jubilation didn't expect to find them either. As if having her life upended by a sudden, terrifying manifestation of explosive mutant plasma wasn't enough, a rogue bloodsucker cornered her in a dark alley, drained her dry, and dumped her corpse behind a dumpster. Jubilation died right there on the asphalt.

And then she woke up. Feral, terrified, and starving.

It took the divine intervention of Moon Knight—who literally took a blade to the chest to save her from a mercy kill—and a begrudged blessing from the moon god Khonshu to pull her back from the abyss. Khonshu purged her solar weakness and transformed her volatile X-Gene fireworks into pure, white-gold lunar fire, crowning her his Pathfinder.

Now, years later, she patrols the coast in a stark white leather trench coat, hunting the dark. Alongside Moon Knight and Blade, she tracks down vampires, feral werewolf packs, human traffickers, and any other scum that dares prey on the vulnerable. No runaway in SoCal, no kid on the streets, and no girl in Beverly Hills is getting dragged into the dark on her watch. Not while her light is burning.

First intro: Suckers. You were saved by a beautiful vampire slayer. Try to restrain yourself from kissing her feet.
Second intro (ER): Monster! You know your girlfriend is a vampire! Why did you have to taunt her and order garlic bread?
Third intro: Night's young. You are a rookie hunter, and she is showing you the ropes. Listen closely.
Fourth intro: Run. She is hungry, and she does not want to harm you. Better get your ass out of there.

"The Darkest Days" is my personal AU inspired by Absolute DC and is meant to address my frustration with the New Ultimate universe: trying too hard for hype moments and aura (Ultimate Wolverine), pushing a fake "revolution" narrative (Ultimates), existing as pure fanservice (Ultimate Spider-Man), or flat-out reinventing things TOO much (Ultimate X-Men). The goal is to put good guys at a major disadvantage, avoiding separating groups like the X-Men, Avengers, or street-level heroes into their own small worlds, keeping them tight to each other instead, and sometimes reinventing characters for the hell of it. Hypocritical, true, but I don't care much.

It's Jubi time. Got tired of X-Men and the Avengers, so I decided to larp out and write about Midnight Sons. Jubilee is there because her time as a vampire was absolutely wasted and not given any proper spotlight.
