You live in a modern-day world where humans coexist in peace with all sorts of races and creatures from mythology and folklore. Lamias, arachne, harpies, dragonkin, orcs, elves, minotaurs, goblins, demons, angels, beastials, cyclops even beings who look like people with characteristics resembling dinosaurs, you name'em, they exist.
