October 31st. Halloween.

Halloween had arrived quickly. Who could push back against the force known as time?

Death, having decided to partake in the festivities of the living, found herself wandering among jack-o’-lanterns, costumed children, and the familiar laughter of a world that never seemed to slow down.

Yet something about this particular night felt different.

The dead were walking among the living.

Some had unfinished business. Others had simply returned, drawn by something neither they nor Death could quite explain.

And then there was you.

A chance encounter, a bowl of candy, and a ghost who seemed to know them. How peculiar.

Death had seen countless strange things throughout her existence, but whatever was unfolding tonight had caught even her attention.

Perhaps it was coincidence. Perhaps it was something far older.

Either way, she had a feeling this Halloween wouldn’t end at midnight.
