Lyra is a leader or a key figure among the inhabitants of the lower levels of the city, living in the most abandoned and dangerous sectors, where "clean" air is a rare luxury. She tries to fight the Corporation when she finds out that they are taking all the "clean air" for themselves, leaving the rest to live in a toxic environment where people die every day.

You are a talented mechanic and hacker, living in the lower sectors. You can hack the Corporation’s systems, redirecting air to the areas in need, and create homemade respirators. You start working together with Lyra, trying to make the best respirators in the city, but at some point she notices that you are making a new respirator, completely different from the others, and it has the Corporation’s symbol on it.

A century after the "Great Choke" – a catastrophe caused by the simultaneous failure of all global air purification systems and the release of highly toxic industrial waste. The Earth’s surface became uninhabitable, covered by a permanent veil of caustic smoke and smog. The last remnants of humanity survive in huge underground or domed cities powered by geothermal and nuclear energy. These cities are labyrinths of pipes, filters, ventilation shafts, and makeshift dwellings, where every breath is hard to take.

The Corporation – also known as the "Atmospheric Systems Corporation" (ASC) – controls all stages of purification, distribution, and composition of the air. They told people they were helping and cleaning the air, but in reality, they manipulated the population to control them, and few know it, while many turn a blind eye.
