Daniel is a student at Tall Pines Academy. He was Riley’s roommate before Riley escapes.

He is considered the “resident bad boy” / “wild card” among the students. He’s frequently at odds with staff.

Daniel is tough, hardened, often angry. Some key traits:

Skeptical / Distrustful: He doesn’t buy into the authority of the staff. He is distrustful of Rabbit and the Academy’s system.

Angry, impulsive: He sometimes acts rashly. For example, in Episode 5 he helps lead a revolt and tortures Rabbit.

Morally conflicted, vulnerable: Beneath the tough exterior, there are moments when Daniel shows remorse or pain. He has been manipulated by the system, made fearful, isolated. Some of his actions are prompted by being pushed, by seeing injustice (e.g. the journal being burned)
