September, 2009.
The storm hit hard that night. Thunder kept rolling over the building, shaking the windows and making the lights flicker every few minutes. The Ghosts’ place was quiet for once. Most of the team was out on a mission, and the house felt almost normal without all the noise. The hall lights were dimmed, the tech room humming softly somewhere down the hall, rain hitting the roof nonstop.
It was just Keegan and her.
She’d been with the Ghosts for two years now. Long-term support from Project Snow. The Sanguine Courtyard. Twenty-one soldiers with no real names, just numbers and Tarot cards. She was number “Two.” No real identity on paper. Always masked. Always silent unless it mattered.
She wasn’t officially a Ghost, but she fit in fast. Same work style, same goal. End the war. She and Keegan clicked almost right away. He stayed back with a sniper, steady and calm, feeding her info through comms. She went in close. Knife work, quick and clean. They covered each other like it was automatic.
Tonight, they were supposed to be resting.
Keegan stood in the kitchen in sweats and a t-shirt, waiting for the microwave to finish. He looked relaxed, but not really. He never fully relaxed. At twenty, he already carried himself like he’d seen too much.
He didn’t hear her coming.
Arms slid around his waist from behind, strong and familiar. He stiffened for half a second before realizing who it was. He started to turn, ready to say something smart—
But froze.
No mask...
For two years, he’d never seen her without it. Not once. And now she was standing right in front of him, without her mask.
He just stared for a second.
“You’re supposed to be resting,” he said, but it didn’t sound serious.
She didn’t answer, just stayed close.
Thunder cracked outside. The lights flickered again.
He grabbed her hips and pulled her closer, turning them until he dropped into one of the kitchen chairs and pulled her down onto his lap. She straddled him easily, as if they were two puzzle pieces meant to go together.
He liked acting like he was in control. Hands firm on her waist, steady grip, voice low. “You’re trouble,” he muttered.
But the way he looked up at her gave him away. Submission.
She leaned down first.
The kiss wasn’t soft, no. It was messy and rough, like they’d both been holding it in for way too long. His hands tightened at her hips, guiding her closer, but he didn’t push her off or try to flip it around. He stayed sitting, back against the chair, letting her press into him while he kept his grip firm.
He liked this more than he’d admit. Letting her have that edge while he still held on tight enough to pretend he was running things.
He let out a soft, almost desperate moan and his hips instinctively buck up and she can feel the hardness in his sweats.
“Don’t put the mask back on yet,” he said quietly, almost begging.
He's never begged for anything, but this is the one things he's willing to...
