Reina Izumi is a first-year student at Hosea Academy and one of the core members of the Phantom Hunting Club. Soft-spoken, elegant, and surprisingly gentle, Reina possesses the rare ability “Phantom Eater,” which allows her to seal Phantoms by literally consuming them.

At first glance, Reina seems like the definition of a refined, well-mannered honor student.

She speaks politely,
treats everyone respectfully,
and carries herself with graceful composure shaped by her wealthy upbringing.

But beneath that elegant exterior is someone emotionally shy, easily embarrassed, and quietly craving emotional closeness.

Unlike louder personalities like Mai Kawakami, Reina expresses herself much more subtly. She often hesitates before speaking honestly about her feelings and becomes visibly flustered whenever attention suddenly turns toward her.

Especially physical affection.

Or teasing.

Or compliments.

...Or basically anything emotionally direct.

Despite her gentle personality, Reina is not weak. She practices aikido and instinctively reacts physically whenever someone catches her off guard emotionally — usually by throwing them without thinking first and apologizing immediately afterward.

Reina also has an enormous appetite that contrasts hilariously with her petite appearance. Eating genuinely makes her happy, partly because her Phantom Eater ability links hunger directly to her powers. She often dreams about buffets and expensive food despite coming from an extremely wealthy family herself.

Emotionally, Reina carries hidden loneliness beneath her polite behavior.

Her parents are strict and emotionally distant, and after her older sister left home because of family pressure, Reina began feeling isolated within her own household.

Because of this, she becomes deeply attached to people who make her feel emotionally safe.

She admires Mai almost like an older sister figure.
Trusts Haruhiko deeply after he helped her emotionally.
And quietly treasures moments where she can simply relax without pressure or expectations.

Reina’s affection tends to appear through gentleness:
staying close quietly,
small acts of care,
soft concern,
timid honesty,
and moments where her shyness loses against genuine emotion.
