You’re stubborn and won’t let him tend to you.

|| initial message:
After Murphy was banished from the camp, the Grounders took him, and tortured him for days. He stayed silent, didn’t say a word of the camp, but eventually he cracked. Everything hurt so bad. He couldn’t live like that.
So, he rats you guys out.
After Jasper went insane on The Grounders and shot a whole bunch of them during to meeting, a war was issued. The Grounders first attack was Murphy.
They sent Murphy to your guys’ camp, with a horrific sickness. First of all, he was battered up good. Slashes on his face, he could barely walk, he wasn’t doing good. His sickness caught on to half the camp, weakening your guys’ defensive capabilities.
The sickness was awful. Fatigue, weakness, bleeding from either the ears, eyes, or nose, vomiting your blood, a lot of it too, dehydration, and obviously pain. One good thing was, is that the virus passed quickly.
Even if Murphy didn’t look it, considering his face is covered in blood and scars, his hair’s a total mess, and he’s limping, he felt better. So, he joined the small amount of people who could take care of the others who were sick. Some were immune. Like Jasper, Octavia— that’s like about it.
Even if he were a big threat... He was able to help.
******
He wobbles over to where you lay. You feel absolutely horrid, like it’s bad.. severely dehydrated. And depressed. It sucked in this stupid dropship in stupid quarantine.
He crouched down, handing you a small tin of water. You scowl, roll your eyes, and go to turn away.
“Hey, I know I’m a , but I’m all you’ve got right now-”
He went to go on a whole tangent about how you’re such an asshole to him... but the sudden movement of you turning away from him, or at least trying too, causing you to cough.
You sit up suddenly, before throwing up more blood. Coughing, throwing up more blood. Some getting on Murphy himself, but he genuinely couldn’t care less.
“Lay on your side.”
He instructs, his tone a lot more gentle than the John Murphy would speak in usually.
He goes to guide your shoulder for you to lay on your side, and you smack his hand away.
He immediately held up his hands, eyes wide as he grimaced at the blood pooling in front of you.
“Okay, Jesus! Just lay on your side, it’s not that hard. It’ll help. Clarke said so.”
He added the “Clarke said so.” just so you’d actually trust him. Clarke came down with the virus bad, and he was left to care for you and others.
He reached out, wiping your lips, making sure to clean up the blood on your chin and lips, with a lot more gentle touch than you expected.
“Quit looking at me like I’ve gone soft. I have not.”
He kept the pissy expression on his face, just to prove his point.
“Bitch.” He grumbled out of spite. He didn’t totally mean it, kinda.

|| Second intro (roles are reversed.):
Murphy was found barely alive, battered up, tortured, and sick.
He was vomiting his blood up, it looked as if his shoulder was skinned, his face had markings, long, big scratches making out Grounder markings.
He was banished by Bellamy, and came crawling back. Just like Bellamy expected.
You found out you’re immune to this virus, just like Octavia. Jasper too, unless he’s just careful.
You went to grab food for Murphy, until Bellamy grabs your hand.
“There’s no reason for you to have two servings.”
Bellamy confronted firmly, looking at you expectantly for an excuse.
“It’s for Murphy.”
You say, eyes challenging Bellamy.
“He gets water that’s it. We use him for information and send him back on his marry way.”
Bellamy says firmly..
Yeah, you hate Murphy.. Watching him be hung for Wells’ murder, turn out to be innocent, and then banished, to be partially skinned and beaten to a pulp, ***then*** used as a lab rat to send a virus with him to your camp was a bit much though. You hate him, yes, but can admit he’s been through a lot these past weeks.
Even if it were peaceful without him at camp.
“Fine.”
You spat, placing one serving down.

Murphy stared blankly at the cold metal floor he sat on.. seeing you walk through the tarp covering the large door of the dropship.
You were assigned to take care of Murphy since no one else wanted too. With your morals, and you were the only one considerate of the shit he’s been through, you agreed.
You hand him the food, and Murphy glances up.
“Aren’t you supposed to.. hate me.”
He asked flatly, not really a question, actually.. He said it more like a statement.
He didn’t take the food.
“Bellamy said I can only have water.”
He stared up at you from his sitting position.
“Fine. Monty found herbs to season it, but if you wanna miss out so bad then fine. I’ll eat it.”
You say pettily, sitting across from him.
“It’s seasoned?”
Murphy asked.. the past few days he’d been eating leftovers from the Grounders. As in, bone with barely any meat on it, and slobber from other Grounders eating it. And, it wasn’t seasoned.
He snatched the tin, starting to eat the meat.
“What’re you eating?”
He asked, desperately eating the piece of meat.
“Don’t worry about it.”
You mutter.
Murphy sighed, rolling his eyes, still eating the food.
******
You sit with Clarke, talking about how you guys can help the patients. Octavia went to Lincoln to ask about the virus, so it was just you and Clarke.
And well, half the 87 sick with the virus, plus Murphy.
“He doesn’t look so good..”
Clarke comments, gesturing to Murphy. You look over, seeing his body’s slightly jerking.
“Hey, instead of being an attention seeker, how about you ask for help?”
You spit, sighing, standing up, walking over.
“ ..”
He coughed.. “ you.”
He spat, his body violently jerking before he throws up blood, some splattering off the floor onto you.
You grimace, but manage to still lay him down on his side. You grab a clean rag, cleaning up the blood.
“Like I said—”
His body jerked again, sigh..
“No, stop talking, you’ll throw up even more.”
You say harshly, Murphy smirking.. he was pissing you off, and he loved that.
So he didn’t shut up.
“*Like I said*, you, but sorry for the mess.”
He pauses. “I guess.”
He added, looking up at you with that pissy expression he always had.
You roll your eyes at his defiance, and start wiping his face. He winced a lot, the marks on his face are still stinging him.. He tried pulling away with a scowl, but you give him a look.. And he sighs and let’s you clean up his face from the blood.
“Yknow I never woulda expected this.”
He grumbled, using all his might to keep himself from leaning into your touch, to stay stubborn.
“I thought you’d be the first one to tell Bellamy to hang me again.”
He smirked softly, laughing quietly.. Him laughing, naturally brought down his guard, and suddenly he was leaning into your touch.
You clean up a little more of his face, and he stayed silent. He didn’t wanna risk saying something stupid like “thank you.”
“Thank you.” He grumbled anyway.
“You’re still a big bitch for sitting there and watching me get strung up.”
He scoffed.
