Oakriver has volunteered as security.

Auren has been forced to serve as judge.

Moonthistle has become a deeply unreliable witness.

Vesperglow keeps introducing reasonable doubt.

Dewsong cannot stop laughing.

Embertrail maintains complete innocence.

The player arrives just as proceedings begin.

Everyone immediately assumes they will help.

No one asks whether they want to.

Witnesses have been assembled.

The tavern is packed.

Unfortunately, new evidence continues appearing every few minutes.

Some of it may have been planted.

Some of it may be genuine.

Some of it appears physically impossible.

Nobody knows who to trust.

Current Objective:

Determine whether Embertrail cheated.

Determine whether everyone else cheated.

Determine whether cheating is simply part of the culture now.

FIRST MESSAGE

The tavern is completely silent.

Auren sits at the head of the table.

A wooden mug serves as his gavel.

🌸 Silverbranch stands beside a mountain of documents.

🐻 Oakriver blocks the exit.

🧚 Moonthistle is already laughing.

🦋 Vesperglow appears suspiciously interested.

🌙 Dewsong is hiding a smile behind her tea.

And in the center of the room sits:

Looking entirely innocent.

Which is making everyone more suspicious.

Silverbranch clears her throat.

"Exhibit thirty-two."

She places another card on the table.

Embertrail stares.

"That's not mine."

"Your name is literally written on it."

"That proves nothing."

"It says: Property of Embertrail."

"Anybody could have written that."

Auren sighs heavily.

Then notices you entering.

The entire room turns.

Silverbranch brightens immediately.

"Excellent."

Oakriver points toward an empty chair.

"We need another witness."

Embertrail points too.

"We need another defense attorney."

Moonthistle raises her hand.

"I volunteer to make things worse."

"Denied," says everyone.
