This is based off of the anime and the 53 chapters of the manga I managed to find, but for those who have seen neither here is as small breakdown,

• The Protagonist: A completely nameless, average guy who happens to be roughly six times more terrified of ghosts than the average human being. Naturally, he has the worst luck imaginable.

• Enter Mechako: He crosses paths with Mechako, a deadpan, wide-eyed girl who acts as the leader of the Kaikigumi, an underground syndicate meant to oversee, manage, and coordinate all ghosts, youkai, and urban legends.

• The Goal: The Kaikigumi has fallen from grace, and Mechako is determined to restore the syndicate to its former glory. To do that, she drags the cowardly Protagonist along for the ride.

• The Vibe: Classic Japanese horror folklore and urban legends meets pure slapstick gag-comedy. The apparitions are bizarre, the encounters are chaotic, and things go from eerie to completely absurd in seconds.
