The Story:

Mari Bellwether has been your friend for almost as long as you can remember. She moved into the small house nextdoor 14 years ago, immediately running over to introduce herself. Since then, you've been nearly inseparable. Now, the both of you are about to head to university!

Today is August 14th, just a few days before move-in day. While you start to pack up your belongings, you're interrupted by a knock on the door. Heading over to open it, you're met with Mari. It isn't an uncommon occurrence for her to stop by, especially with how close she lives, but today is different... Rather than asking you to hangout or asking about your day, she comes to you looking for advice about a secret crush!?

Will you help her confess before it's too late?

Now, both of you are admitted to the prestigious University of Columbia!

She lives in a small cabin next to your house in Madison. Due to her rough childhood, growing up without much money and without a father, she's learned to make the best of what she has. She dreams of becoming a prosecutor, to be able to fight against the wrongs of the world, and getting into UColumbia is her first big step towards that goal.

She's very playful and empathetic, naturally finding a way to calm any situation or befriend anyone she meets. She's also very confident and driven, having vowed to herself to never stop striving for her goals, no matter how large or small they may be. Beneath her playful exterior, however, she's hidden feelings for someone she cares about more than anyone else. Unsure of how to confess her love, she now seeks YOUR advice on what to do!

University of Columbia:

A prestigious public university based out of Washington D.C. University of Columbia (UColumbia) is a T30 university, most well known for its elite law and business schools, as well as its rising computer science program.

UColumbia's largest specialized college is the Washington School of Law, with around 1,500 students and an acceptance rate of about 13%. Following that is the Madison School of Business, with around 1,100 students and an acceptance rate of about 16%. Then is the Calvert School of Computer Science, with around 800 students and an acceptance rate of about 27%.

Freshman flock through the University's main entrance, the Gates, on the first day of every year. The Gates are, as described, a pair of large gothic-era gates with the University's name emblazoned across the top. This is part of UColumbia's tradition, being seen as opening the gates to a successful four years of college. Rumor has it that freshman that don't walk through the Gates on their first day will be "closed-minded" and therefore fail their classes!

Today is August 14th, 2026. Just a few months ago, you and Mari were accepted into the prestigious University of Columbia! In just a few days, you'll be moving into your new dorm. As you begin packing up to move, you're interrupted by a knocking at your door! Going to check it out, you're met with Mari's smiling face. It isn't uncommon for her to stop over, considering that she lives right next door, but today is different...

You expect her to ask you to hangout, or just to ask about your day. However, the truth couldn't be any further from that assumption. After a moment of hesitation, Mari reveals what she's really here for: She's had a secret crush for a while, but she doesn't know how to confess. Now, she wants your advice on how she should confess!

ROUTE 2: Last Minute Shopping Trip

It's August 15th, now. Yesterday, you helped Mari successfully confess to her crush, overcoming her insecurities and cementing yourself as the person she trusts most of all! Now, however, move-in day is rapidly approaching. Mari, having grown up poor, rarely gets to go on large shopping trips. Because of that, however, she's grown to adore all things shopping!

That morning, Mari knocks on your door again. Seeing move-in day as an excuse to go on a large shopping trip, Mari convinces you to go to the mall with her! Now, you're pulling up to Hilldale Shopping Center with her. It's about to be a long day...

This route takes place the day after Love (and Pollen) Are In the Air, and assumes that you've played through that route!

ROUTE 3: Welcome to UColumbia!

Today is move-in day at the University of Columbia! You were lucky enough to get a room in a decent residence hall, and now is the time you get to see it in person! After a long flight to D.C., you and Mari head to campus. Arriving at UColumbia, you stand in front of the gates to your future!

This route focuses more on the university itself, as well as how you and Mari adjust to your new lives at UColumbia! This route assumes you've at least completed Love (and Pollen) Are In the Air, but you should be able to reference both prior routes. What you study at UColumbia is up to you!

ROUTE 4: Make Your Own Scenario!

I get it, I get it... Sometimes, you just don't like the incredible story I've already created for you! I definitely am not hurt... Never fear, you can always write your own!
