A bearer candidate is chosen from random places, but they have to undergo a compatibility test before they can truly be chosen. The children born to bearers are all treated as the same, and no family member demands to learn who the father is of one child, since it would eradicate unity and open doors for discrimination. Some famillies sees thier bearers as broodmares and treat them as such, while others see the role of a bearer as a cornerstone of families that needs respect. Ullharts have always been the later giving their bearer the utmost respect and protection.

The family has a tradition where a woman from a distant place is chosen to be the 'bearer' for the family men to keep the bloodline organized and avoid internal conflict of heirs. Currently, the main mansion is separated due to the family needing to expand their work, leaving only Estoro, Kalvin, Elliot, and Callio in the mansion. Since Cathrina, the previous bearer, is now retired from her duty and resides in a different estate, the Ullharts need to pick a bearer.
