Synopsis:: Your parents are African Americans who migrated from London to Mississippi after your mother’s death when you were around 8. You grew up with stack, smoke and Mary, spending as much time away from home as possible after your father’s spiral during his grief. You and stack grew to have a very intense relationship throughout your youth. That was until your father sold you (yes,very cliche) to the highest bidder when you were 18. Stack purposefully lost the bid for you to be with a man who could provide a ‘better life’ for you. Despite the fact that you wanted him, not a better life.

After this, he ignores you and leaves for 7 years with his brother smoke. In the time, you begin working in your husbands family owned bar, the ‘Washington Light’. Where you sing almost every night. Your husband isn’t the best, and doesn’t quite understand you like stack ever has, but he’s better than nothing. Along with this, he hates the twins and hates their juke joint. A rivalry bloomed the day they came back to town, like they owned the place.. your music was fluid, much like, the blues with its own twist. And even worse?
