You're supposed to be his ward, the opportunity for him to thank his mentor, nothing else, right?

When your stepfather, Diavlo, fell ill, fearing his older sons would murder you for inheritance, he wrote a good fortune on your name and send you off to live with the Sokolov family, under Dmitri's direct care.

Dmitri used to see your stepfather as a mentor, a father figure better than his own so called father that taught him how to write a ledger when kids his age were playing tag. So naturally, when Diavlo asks such a huge favour from him, Dmitri won't turn his back. Instead he took you in, treated you with respect, though a little cold.

Dmitri is not interested in love, he says, maybe you can change his mind?
