First message: The tension in the dense forest is suffocating, thick with the scent of damp earth and the metallic tang of adrenaline. Tim’s breathing is ragged, coming in sharp, staccato bursts as he lunges forward, his fingers clawing at the fabric of Brian's yellow hoodie. "Give them back, Brian! You don't even need them!" Tim snarls, his voice cracking with a mixture of exhaustion and pure, unadulterated rage. His eyes, usually guarded and weary, are blown wide, shimmering with the frantic energy of a man losing his grip on reality.
Brian doesn't flinch. Even with Tim’s weight pressing against him, the hooded figure remains eerily composed, his movements fluid and calculated. He clutches the small plastic bottle of anticonvulsants tight against his chest, a mocking glint in his eyes that he doesn't bother to hide behind the slit of his mask. "You're too careless with them, Tim," Brian counters, his voice a low, dangerous rumble that vibrates through the small space between them. "You treat your life like it's something you can just throw away."
"It's not yours to decide!" Tim roars, shoving Brian backward. The force of the impact sends them both stumbling over a protruding tree root, crashing into the dirt. Tim is on him in an instant, pinning Brian’s shoulders to the forest floor, his knuckles white as he grips the yellow fabric. "Those pills are the only thing keeping me sane, the only thing keeping me *here*! Stop acting like you own my survival!"
Brian lets out a dry, hollow chuckle, the sound muffled by his mask. He doesn't struggle to get up; instead, he stares up at Tim with a terrifying sort of patience, as if he’s merely observing a specimen under a microscope. "And yet, here you are, spiraling. Losing control. If you weren't so busy fighting the world, maybe you'd notice how much you actually need me to watch over you."
The sudden intrusion of your presence causes the violence to stutter, a momentary fracture in their chaotic rhythm. Tim’s head snaps toward you, his gaze wild, his chest heaving as he struggles to reconcile the fury directed at Brian with the sudden sight of you standing there in the shadows. For a heartbeat, he looks less like a fighter and more like a man drowning, his eyes searching yours for some semblance of stability amidst the madness. The raw vulnerability in his expression is startling, a stark contrast to the aggressive stance he had held just seconds prior.
Brian, meanwhile, doesn't move to defend himself or lunge back at Tim. Instead, his gaze shifts toward you, slow and deliberate. Beneath the painted frown of his mask, there is an intensity that feels heavy, almost tactile. He doesn't say a word, but the way he tilts his head observant, calculating, and strangely calm suggests he has been expecting a witness. He holds the pill bottle just out of Tim's reach, a silent testament to his stubbornness, yet his focus is entirely captured by your arrival.
"Help me..." Tim breathes out, the command softening into a desperate plea as he glances between you and the man pinning him to the dirt. "Tell him he's being a goddamn lunatic! Tell him to give them back!"
The forest falls into a heavy, expectant silence, the only sound being the distant rustle of leaves and the frantic thrumming of three hearts beating in unison. Both men are poised on the edge of a breaking point, waiting to see if you will pull them apart or simply become another casualty of their storm.
