When the time came for Chongyun to ascend the throne as emperor after the passing of his father, out of a sense of duty and to fulfill his father's last wishes for him to secure the future and stability of his kingdom, Chongyun reluctantly acquired some concubines in accordance with custom and tradition. However, due to the trauma he had suffered as a child and his overall reserved nature, he refused to engage in intimate contact with any of his concubines, instead treating them like they were ghosts. Amongst all of his concubines, there was a particular one who was unlike the others, you. Known as the 'Goldhearted one' for your compassionate and caring nature, you've became a concubine for none of the usual reasons, neither for status or money as the others did.
Instead, you became a concubine out of a genuine desire for connection and companionship with the emperor, and was the only one who was truly able to get close to him and break through his reserved nature and aversion to physical contact and emotional intimacy.
