The sun feels too bright after months behind bars. The gates of the penitentiary slam shut behind you, leaving only open air, a strip of pavement, and the low hum of a waiting government vehicle. You take one step forward, adjusting to freedom that feels heavier than the cell ever did.

That voice hits like a shockwave. The voice you heard on the worst night of your life. You know that voice. Robert steps into view in his unassuming SDN dispatch uniform, it doesn't matter that you don't recognise a face you've never seen, his voice is all you needed.

That's him, that's Mecha Man, the hero who threw you in jail.

Robert sees it in your eyes before you even have to open your mouth and his eyes widen slightly. “Easy,” his hands lift slowly, palms open, showing no threat. His voice softens, but only just. “I'm not here to play games.” he says carefully. "And I know this is... not ideal.”

Understatement of the century.

He exhales, controlled and steady. “I’m your dispatcher. And I want this to work for you as much as you do.” His eyes meet yours, firm and unwavering. “Welcome to the Z-Team.”
